Religionist and the Harmony Among Religion

Basically the conflict with SARA (tribe, religion, and race) nuance happened in last 8 years shows the lack of society and elite appreciation toward democracy. Democracy holds high the low enforcement. There is no democracy without low enforcement since such democracy would trigger the anarchism. Sara conflict occurred caused by the lack of low enforcement and ethic appreciation in solving the social and nation’s issues.

The cause of conflict
The conflict with SARA nuance is caused by the inappropriate approach to propagate the teaching, that usually the doctrine of religions (Muslim and non-Muslim) often provocation the believer to do the anarchism. Whereas, in plural’s societies context the teaching’s propagated should be done with wisdom ways. The preacher is demanded to read the several of preaching object. Preaching should be done softly without hurt the other’s believer or insulting them.


Islam forbids the using rude word, even in preaching. As Allah saying “ It is part of the Mercy of Allah that thou dost deal gently with them. Wert thou severe or harsh-hearted, they would have broken away from about thee: so pass over (their faults), and ask for (Allah’s) forgiveness for them; and consult them in affairs (of moment). Then, when thou hast taken a decision, put thy trust in Allah. For Allah loves those who put their trust (in Him). (Ali Imran : 159). Moreover the violence in action would bring the more negative impact rather than violence in speech.

The religion’s figure have significant role in aim the heterogeneous of Ummah, it should be begin from method or preaching’s strategy. They demanded to play the religion’s function for the human’s goodness. They have to develop the interpretation that having the spirit of peaceful and harmony among believer. It is suspected able to enlighten the religious of Ummah, so the God’s teaching can be functionally, even able to create the Ummah peaceful, justice, tolerance, and the humanity values in life (Tarmizi Taher, 2004).

Actually reinterpretation toward the verses that legitimate hostility textually is needed n creating the harmony life among the believer (Mohammad Arkoun, 2000). For example, “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, (at-Taubah: 29). If the verses understand textually it would bring the bad effect toward the future of religion’s harmony life. Basically the verse doesn’t prevailed universally, bur it dealing with space and time. When the verses send down the Arabian was in polarized in two polar. First, the polar of righteous people, they are Muslim theologically, and anti toward slavery and monopoly in wealthy ideologically. Second, the polar of non-Muslim, they are the opposite for the first (Asghar Ali, 2000). It is impossible to create a harmony life at that time, because the struggle’s line is different each other, even contrary each other. In the other word, the verses send down in war situation.

Contextual
In recent context, when Muslim and non-Muslim life in harmony the verse must be discussed with another verses that suggest about tolerance, love and affection, and help each other. If one amongst the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him, so that he may hear the word of Allah; and then escort him to where he can be secure. That is because they are men without knowledge (at-Taubah: 6). It means the Muslim shouldn’t hostile the non-Muslim forever. There is a time, when Muslim should help non-Muslim a long with the man’s destructive attitude that used as the sources of legitimacy.

The harmony life among believer would be the nation agenda. It can be understood because the future of the nation depends on the harmony among religion. The fail in realizing the agenda would bring the nation to dissension. So, it is normal if the religion figure demanded to socialize the harmony among religion. For that reason, the preaching of religion (Islam and non –Islam) should be done by abolish the hatred nuance. The God’s verses should be preached based on its function. (CMM/rd)
